Why ConvertKit is the best email marketing platform for coaches and online service providers

As a messaging strategist and email marketing expert, I've seen a ton of email marketing platforms come and go in popularity over the years.
But there's one email marketing platform that has had my heart since the very beginning: ConvertKit.
Here's why I think ConvertKit is the best email marketing platform for coaches and service providers selling group programs, 1:1 packages and/or online courses:
1) ConvertKit is easy to use
One of the things I love about ConvertKit is how easy it is to use.
Even if you're not a tech genius, you can create and send professional-looking emails in just a few clicks. No complicated formatting or mind-breaking code required!
As an email marketing strategist who works with personal brands, I particularly love the way ConvertKit is able to deliver text-only emails that look like they’re from a friend without giving up brand-building features like an image in your emails’s signature. ← This is one of the hacks that will help you build a strong relationship with your subscribers so that when you sell they are ready to buy.
2) ConvertKit’s automations are incredibly intuitive
Another awesome thing about ConvertKit is its visual automations. With ConvertKit, you can easily create email sequences triggered by specific actions or events—so you can send the right message to the right person at exactly the right time.
Tagging based on link-clicks is one of the features I consider a non-negotiable when advising my clients on which email marketing platform is best for them—and ConvertKit makes it easy to add tags and send relevant content based on the actions your subscribers take.
For example, let’s say you’ve created a welcome sequence for new subscribers and you want to segment them into people who’ve clicked to your Work with Me page (warmer leads) and those who’ve yet to be moved (cooler leads). With ConvertKit, it is easy and intuitive to put together a visual automation that allows you to see the journey your subscribers will follow if they click or if they don’t.
Your email marketing strategy is only as strong as it is relevant to what your readers want & need. That’s why, as coaches and service providers, it's so important that, whenever we use automation to scale our businesses, we do so without sacrificing RELEVANCE to our readers. ConvertKit makes this kind of automation possible and simple for solopreneurs to set up on their own.
3) ConvertKit integrates easily with your other tech
ConvertKit integrates seamlessly with a bunch of other tools and platforms, including landing page builders like Leadpages, e-commerce platforms like Shopify, and my favourite checkout and course hosting platform, Thrivecart Learn+ ( < affiliate link).
Above: A quick video demo of how to tag subscribers based on their Thrivecart purchase. In my system, the addition of this tag will automatically add them to the Product Delivery Sequence. Login info for digital products is provided directly via Thrivecart Learn+.
Direct integrations make all the difference when it comes to SIMPLY being able to connect your email marketing with the rest of your business, so you can send new subscribers and new buyers the right emails at the right time without having to bother setting up a bunch of Zaps.
The fact that ConvertKit has direct integrations with many of the other platforms you use to run your online biz also makes it much easier to track your results and optimize your marketing strategy. Learn more about ConvertKit’s direct integrations here.
4) ConvertKit’s customer support has your back
One factor I know other people love about ConvertKit is their customer support. They have a ton of resources to help you get the most out of the platform, like a knowledge base, video tutorials, and one-on-one support from experts.
Personally, I’ve never had to reach out to them because I’ve never had an issue arise. But I do love that when I have a question about how to make something happen, all it takes is a quick Google and I can be 99% sure somebody else has asked and answered my question before.
The amount/quality of support on offer is definitely something you’ll want to consider when you’re choosing the best email marketing platform for you. Especially if you're not super tech-savvy, it's nice to know that there's a support team available if you run into any issues.
5) ConvertKit won't break the bank
Finally, ConvertKit is affordable, even if you’re just starting to build your email list!
They offer a bunch of pricing plans to fit different business needs and budgets. Even the lower-tier plans include key features like automation and integrations, so you can get all the benefits of a powerful email marketing platform without it costing you a ton. ← This is a KEY thing to watch out for when you’re choosing an email marketing platform!
With all of that said, when it comes to making email marketing work for you, the 2 most important things you can do are simply:
Make a decision and
Start today.
Which platform you go with doesn’t matter nearly as much as whether or not you are building and nurturing your email list.
Personally, I love ConvertKit because it is intuitive, easy to navigate, reliable and affordable. I love that there are a ton of resources available to help me do what I want to do and that they do offer customer support. ConvertKit is powerful enough to handle advanced automations while still being easy enough to learn that I haven’t had to outsource setting things up.
